Cummins
Cummins popularity continues to grow on a global
scale. Over the past 80 years,
the Cummins name has become synonymous with diesel
engines. Customers all over
the world depend on Cummins for clean, efficient
power every day. And they deliver.
Today, virtually every kind of diesel-powered
vehicle on the road is powered by Cummins.
In most of these categories, Cummins is either
the market share leader - or gaining
significantly. Their investment in research and
development has resulted in an entire
lineup of advanced electronic engines, including
the first truly new diesels of the
21st century - the Signature 600 and ISX.
Signature 600
Run Hard. Dream Big. High-horsepower owners have
a few simple demands. They want the power
to set new productivity standards. The kind of
torque that will flatten a road and lighten
a load.
For them, for you, Cummins built the Signature.
This totally new 15-litre engine delivers
up to 630 horses. Enough power to
put a lot of distance between you and the last
place
you stopped. It's also built stronger, lighter,
faster. Even more fuel-efficient, durable,
dependable. This new design incorporates every
technological advantage Cummins could put
into an engine. That makes the Signature revolutionary.
It all starts with the Dual Overhead Camshafts.
DOHC design optimises both fuel injection
and engine braking... not just one or the other.
One cam generates increased power while
actually improving fuel economy. The second cam,
through Signature's Intebrake system,
retards up to 600 brake horsepower. That's a figure
that add-on engine brakes can't match.
Noticeably absent from this engine are wires and
hoses. Our fully integrated electronics
and fluid lines are designed and built right into
the engine. The Electronic Control Module
(ECM) monitors, then coordinates, all accessory
operations and subsystems to maintain peak
performance. And keep components working together
smoothly.
Another radical Signature difference is its dramatic
reduction in parts. Integrated design
has reduced the number of engine parts by a third.
There's simply less to go wrong.
Not only that, in the short term, Cummins' advanced
filtration and monitoring system allows for
extended oil change intervals. In the long term,
heavy-duty rings, pistons and bearings of
high-strength alloys and high-output design will
see that you log over a million kilometres
before your first overhaul. |
